What better activity on a late-summer's day than touring a fascinating historical home in the Upper Valley?! Guided by current owners Jay and Cyndi Garza, we will get a look at the house that Sam Beecher built--once called "the grandest in the Upper Valley." Sam (1873-1957) was a bigger-than-life character who wore many hats: stonemason, orchardist, mountain climber, irrigation pioneer. He owned the first automobile in the Upper Valley, partied with the likes of Sam Hill and the Queen of Romania (of Maryhill fame), and even spent 18 days in the Chelan County Jail. Join us and see some of Beecher's original furnishings, and appreciate the tasteful upgrades made by the present owners, to honor the past and continue Sam's legacy into the future.
