Hillcrest Haven of Rest aka Shugart aka Burgess

Take Highway 2 north from Leavenworth to Coles Corner, Highway 207 to the junction with 209. Take a right on Hwy 209 to Plain and go north from Plain on Hwy 22 (Chiwawa Loop Road). At about 2.2 miles Shugart Flats will be on the left. The site is .7 of a mile further up on a hill side behind the mobile home.
The cemetery is also known as  Shugart Cemetery  and  Burgess Cemetery.  The Shugart Cemetery is on a knoll back of the W. O. Burgess place at Plain. The cemetery began when Hanna Priscilla Shugart died in 1902 at 34 years old. They thought that this would be the beginning of an area cemetery, but nothing much came of it. There are less than 20 burials identified there.

No need to use ‘wildcard’ characters in your search, the filters do that automatically. Therefore, don’t put too much info into either of the search boxes; it could cause nothing to be found. Start with just a few characters in the search boxes.

Click the ‘Name’ column which has the ‘+’ sign on the left to better view data for that row in a dialog box window rather than the wrapped text in each cell of the table.

You can PRINT, download in CSV format, view a PDF, or copy to the clipboard the displayed records.

Use the ‘Show Entries’ pulldown to control how many rows of data to display on each page.  Always check the print preview and verify the number of pages you want to print.
