Funeral Home Records Index

WAGS’ Funeral Home Records were acquired from the Jones & Jones Funeral Home (director Eldon Hawkins) during the merger with Betts Funeral Service. Indexing the names and archiving the documents with acid-free paper and folders was a meticulous seven-year project.

There are nearly 27,500 records, which include the years 1906-2001 for Jones & Jones of Wenatchee, Kuelbs or Braun Funeral Home of Cashmere, Waterville Funeral Home, and a few from Ward’s Funeral Chapel of Leavenworth.

Contents of the files vary: They may include just the funeral card with or without parents, dates, places, etc. Other files may include the death certificate, obituary, gift and flower lists, military records and more. The early ledgers look more like the image to the left.

The Custom SEARCH Builder ‘Add Condition’ Button filter above the data table is used to search (filter) data in any or all column(s) of the data table. You select the columns needed to limit your search. To start over, first try your Refresh key, then use the ‘Clear X’ or ‘Clear All’ button to clear out any prior search text you have entered.

Use the ‘+’ button on the left of any row to better view data using a pop-up window versus the wrapped text in each cell of the table.

The normal table SEARCH box on the top right is used to search for data in ANY column. There is no need to use ‘wildcard’ characters in your searching or filtering–the search filters do that automatically. Therefore, don’t put too much info in the custom or normal search filter boxes; it could cause nothing to be found. Start with just a few characters in the search boxes and work up from there.
